HELLA hosted a talent day at the company's headquarters in Abfaltersbach. During the factory tour, guests got a first hand experience of how innovative sun protection products are created. At the interactive stations, they had the opportunity to try out a few work steps themselves and to showcase their talents. The company's apprentices reported on their day-to-day work, gave valuable tips for successful training and – together with their trainers – provided information about the various apprenticeships and career opportunities at HELLA. The apprenticeship to become a sun protection technician is particularly versatile. The profession was recently declared a “climate game changer” by the Federal Ministry for Climate Protection, Environment, Energy, Mobility, Innovation and Technology.
The Talent Day was created to open up the company to potential recruits and give them a glimpse behind the scenes. Andreas Kraler, Managing Director of the HELLA Group, was enthusiastic about the lively participation and the great interest in the training opportunities at HELLA: “We want to present ourselves not only to youngsters, but also to their parents. They should be sure that their children will be part of a great team at HELLA and that optimum framework conditions for training are ensured.”
A special highlight of the day was the Meet & Greet with biathlon star Dominik Landertinger and up-and-coming athletes Anna Andexer and Lukas Haslinger. Dominik Landertinger explained the connection between apprenticeship and training in the high-performance sport: “You can compare a trainer with a good instructor. I did an apprenticeship as a mechanical engineering technician myself and had an excellent foreman, who prepared me step by step for the final apprenticeship examination.”
The young athletes Anna Andexer and Lukas Haslinger also agreed: “Talent is a prerequisite, of course. But you also have to be ambitious and need to give up something sometimes. It takes more than talent to be successful,” they agreed. As team sponsor of the Austrian biathlon team, HELLA has been using sports sponsoring since 2021 not only for external communication, but also to enable employees to interact directly with the athletes and attend sporting events.
