With a side length of 8 centimetres and a height of 1.3 centimetres, ONYX.CENTER is the smallest sun protection control centre on the market. It serves as an interface between the Smartphone and the individual control units of the HELLA control system, ONYX. The system is wireless and achieves enormous ranges across several rooms with an integrated antenna. Likewise, the centre box forms the interface to other Smart Home controls in the building. This makes the centre box the heart in the smart home and networked heating, ventilation, light, sun protection and much more.
Digital sun protection for the smart building
The ONYX control system was already introduced in the market by HELLA in 2014 itself. Blinds, Venetian blinds, roller shutters or terrace canopies are conveniently controlled via Smartphone or tablet using an App, voice control or fully automatically. Customised and individual control solutions are available with ONYX.HOME for private customers and ONYX.PRO for larger residential or office complexes.
Saving energy with automated sun protection
With automatic control and integration into the smart home, sun protection products bring enormous potential for a building’s positive energy balance. When equipped with weather sensors, the systems of energy consumption can reduce greatly, wherein the systems respond to the weather data. In winter, you should let the thermal radiation from the sun into the room during the day, because solar energy heats the building free of charge. At dusk and at night, automatic external sun protection such as roller shutters or Venetian blinds again create a thermal air cushion. This, energy savings of up to 30 percent are possible. Intelligent sun protection systems thus make an important contribution towards CO2 savings and climate protection.
