Due to the ever scarcer living space, the search for new housing concepts is becoming increasingly important. The H.O.M.E. House 2023 by O&O Baukunst activates a mostly unused resource: the roof. Roof areas become new building sites - this counteracts the sealing of further areas. In addition, the transparency of the house allows views to the sky as well as over the city skyline. However, this also means that the interiors need to be protected from too much sunlight and prying eyes. The privileged place in the sun as well as the increased number of sunshine hours in Central European cities bring optimised sun protection solutions into focus.
The architects opted for a particularly elegant solution with the cable-guided screens. The trend towards large-format awning systems suits this concept perfectly - and is taken to a new architectural level by HELLA. HELLA's large-format vertical awnings are constantly being further developed. This expertise in the field of façade-flush external shading was also applied in the new H.O.M.E House. As part of the functional layered structure of the façade system, the external sun shading is an essential element. In this way, sustainable living with the sun is made possible by sophisticated awning solutions with the highest aesthetic standards.
H.O.M.E. is one of the leading magazines in the field of living, architecture and design. For the past three years, one issue has been dedicated to the H.O.M.E. house. Renowned architects are commissioned to design living space that is sustainable, contemporary, innovative and free of restrictions as a concept. The aim is to depict what is feasible in architecture and the diversity of interior design in state-of-the-art 3-D visualisation. This year HELLA was also part of the H.O.M.E. house.
