HELLA continues to be on a stable course, despite a challenging market environment. “With the second-highest sales result in our company's history, we have shown that a broad product portfolio, the highest quality standards and consistent innovative strength are a winning combination that works even in difficult times,” explains Andreas Kraler, Managing Director of the HELLA Group. “As a full-service provider, we can respond quickly and comprehensively to different customer requirements and offer the right solutions in each case. We also rely on several sales channels in different countries, are constantly expanding our portfolio and are consistently working on optimising our range. That pays off!” The HELLA Group, which is celebrating its 65th anniversary this year, has also always relied heavily on in-house innovation.
HELLA is not only focussing on innovations in its products. The family-owned business is also developing new sales concepts. With the HELLA experience world CUBE and the wall solution WALL, the company provides turnkey high-end sales tools, which promise to maximise sales for dealers and partners, new opportunities for cross-selling and up-selling, an increased closing rate and simplified purchasing. The concept presented for the first time at the world's leading trade fair for roller shutters, doors and sun protection systems (R+T) in Stuttgart in February, including multimedia elements and practical sales tools, was a crowd-puller.
The latest generation of ONYX sensors was also presented at the trade fair: The sun and brightness sensor ONYX.TAG sun and the temperature and humidity sensor ONYX.TAG temperature continuously measure weather data and control the sun protection systems optimised for customer benefit, ideal indoor climate and positive building energy balance. HELLA launched the ONYX sun protection control system around ten years ago and has continued to develop it ever since. The in-house ONYX sun protection control system in particular saw an increase of over 25 per cent in 2023. “Consumers now realise that only a smart home is a sustainable home,” explains Kraler. “Sun protection makes a significant contribution to building efficiency and can result in cost savings for cooling and heating. However, this requires the appropriate automated systems, which we at HELLA provide specially with the ONYX products.”
HELLA is a sought-after testing and development partner in the sun protection industry. Most recently, as part of a co-operation with Gluetex, a leading company in the textile sun protection industry, the family-owned company tested its new patent, TRail, for a year before launching it in the market. The revolutionary system for textile sun protection solutions such as vertical awnings, conservatories and terrace roofs was recently honoured with the Innovation Award in the “Textile sun protection” category and the Special Jury Prize at the R+T trade fair.
This is because HELLA is experiencing increased demand in the area of textile sun protection in particular, which is due to an overall climatic phenomenon: The wind is getting stronger in many places, especially in exposed locations and around particularly tall buildings. This poses an enormous challenge for external sun protection. New technologies such as TRail help with the paradigm shift.
Andreas Kraler is optimistic about the future in this anniversary year. “With the increasing importance of systemic sun protection and the high demand for innovative solutions for energy-efficient construction and living, we are confident that the recipe for success of innovation, service and customer proximity will continue to keep us on a stable course.”
